Kalos Cru Calixto Gran Reserva 2016
"This has a wealth of rich blackberries and ripe dark plums and arrives in smooth, essence-like mode on the palate with a very succulent plum core that holds long and fresh. Drink or hold" James Suckling
The Losada family decided to produce wines of the highest quality to pay tribute to the wine of the region and thank local people for their hospitality.
"Kalós" in Greek means "something of great beauty". So, they selected the best grapes in Altamira and brought together winemakers Pablo Benavides and Fabián Valenzuela to make their wines.
A wine intensely red with violet hues. Its aromas are reminiscent of red fruits, cassis, and plums with a delicate, well-integrated touch of vanilla and chocolate. Round and velvety in the mouth, with ripe tannins, good volume, and a long, elegant finish.
Pair It
Best served between 16° – 18° C, this Malbec is a perfect pair with roasted duck, grilled meats, stews and pasta.
Cellar It
The 2016 Cru Calixto drinks well now but has a cellaring potential of 10 years.
